Making a Kitty Charm for on your Bag
This is a great little project for using up Fabric or using a garmet that is not repairable anymore.
The PDF PAttern is Kitty charm pattern, you can download it and print it out.
You will need;
– The PDF pattern cut out
– Material for the outer A4 size and Material for the inner A5 size (if the material is lightweight maybe some iron on interfacing)
– 1 Zipper 10cm or longer
– clip or keyring
– Thread and sewing machine
Remember the Seam Allowance is 0.5cm and then we can get started.
Cut out all your pieces and if needed iron on the interfacing.
Then Sew the end pieces onto the zipper.
Sew on the top (ear piece) onto the Zipper, and also add to lining part.
Sew on the bottom piece onto the zipper, and again add the lining part.
Now you can stitch your eyes on.
The Sew the lining and front pieces together 0.5cm from the edge. Ironing then in place can help here.
Sew the strap piece togerther and loop your attchment on
Then sew this onto the front piece, between the ears pointing downwards to the zipper.
Open your Zipper, then Sew together the front and back facing the outside pieces together. Note the front pieces is a little bit larger, so you will need to ease it into the back piece.
The zig zag the edges together so nothing frays and turn it out through the zipper. It might take you poking a pen or scissor end up the ears to properly turn it out, just make sure it’s nothing sharp.
And there you have it a small little pouch to put things like head phones, mints or chewing gum into and attach to your bag.
